The way to a man’s heart!
One of the most important activities our men get stuck into every 8 weeks or so, on a Saturday morning, is eating breakfast together (full English, eggs ‘sunny side up’ or whatever your pleasure!) and, in between mouthfuls, chatting about most topics under the sun! (It’s a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it!)
Our late friend Andrew Barclay from Trinity Church, Knebworth, introduced the idea just over a year ago, and since then it has really caught on. Starting with just a handful of men from Trinity it has gradually attracted numbers from other churches in the area, including ourselves.
Having said that, we’ve been careful not to label this as something for ‘church’ men only. With emphasis on fun and fellowship, and doing justice to the old adage of the way to a man’s heart being through his stomach, it’s just the sort of thing to invite non-church friends to – and some of us do!
And as the empty chair in our picture shows, there’s always room for one more!
