Girlguiding UK

Rainbows, Brownies and Guides

We have dynamic and vibrant uniformed organisations that are sponsored by the Church and led by church members.

The Brownie unit was formed in 1959, Guides in 1961 and Rainbows in 1990, all units are sponsored by the Church and are open to all girls.

The three units continue to thrive, with over 60 girls aged 5 – 15 years laughing, learning, and playing on a Friday evening! We are fortunate that at present we have church members as part of the leadership teams in all three units.

The girls have opportunities to get involved in an enormous range of exciting activities from outdoor challenges on days out and camps, to learning new skills such as first aid, crafts and much more. Guiding is an activity with a purpose – it provides opportunities among other things for girls to seek spiritual development.

The girls are invited to join in church events, including parade services and fundraising and social events. The leaders have begun working together to look at further ways to encourage more girls to join in with the Church family.
